i hear she

i hear she

i hear she

refused to stand for ‘god save the queen’

I hear she knew how to give a cup of tea

She jumped ship to ride on something that hummed closer to earth

They say she walked herself to the hospital, waters breaking beneath her

She cries whenever her offspring show their proud eyeballs on stage

She was of the masses who knew how to turn up at a pub with a carseat        with your name on it /// please come home

She won’t shut up

won’t give up her bicycle

she comes with hotpants & mirth, free of charge

they say even when her heart was palpitating

at the thought of public spaces

she left the house

she died not in her bed, bitch,

but outside

      She was above nothing

      and proud of it

she went for grace and got _______

she wasn’t marble enough to be the matriarch

      so she became

aunt nobody
